Sphinx vintage jewellery is a highly collectable and an old British UK Jewellery brand.

The company was started in the late 1940′s by S Root and their factory was based in Chiswick, London employing over 200 - 300 people. They were known for their well made, statement costume jewellery pieces , producing a wide spectrum of styles and designs.  They made jewelry for Kenneth Jay Lane, Butler & Wilson, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and others.  Some pieces made for Butler & Wilson have both B&W and Sphinx marks
